Reem Island is an exquisite slice of natural paradise anchored on the pristine blue waters of the persian sea. The picturesque natural island lies near the northern shores of Abu Dhabi Island and directly across from Abu Dhabi Mall. It is divided into three parts: Shams, Najmat and the Pearl.  Each part will include its own business district, commercial district, residential district, schools, art galleries, parks, shopping malls, recreational centers, healthcare, world class infrastructure and commercial spots.

Reem Island lies:

  • 2oo meters away from Abu Dhabi’s new Central Business District currently being built on Sowwah Island, which will form an integral part of Reem Island.
  • 500 meters away from the city centre.
  • 1000 meters away from Saadiyat Island, which hosts the Saadiyat Beach Golf Course and will be home to the Louvre, Guggenheim, Performing Arts Centre and Sheikh Zayed Museum.
  • 15 minutes away from Yas Island, which houses the Formula 1 Yas Marina Circuit, Ferrari World Theme Park and Links Golf Course.
  • 20 minutes away from Abu Dhabi International Airport.
  • 60 minutes away from Dubai down the main Abu Dhabi - Dubai highway.

Shams Abu Dhabi (meaning ‘the sun of Abu Dhabi’) is a district of Reem Island, covering approximately 25% of the Island. It will become a self-sustaining city designed around soothing canals and relaxing parks, integrating world-class master-planning practices and extending the lush green of Abu Dhabi's landscape.

SHAMS Abu Dhabi features several novel projects including Shams Park, Shams Gate, Sky Tower, Sun Tower and Marina. The latter offers residents of the Sun and Sky Towers a vast array of additional facilities, such as cinemas, marina, shopping mall, restaurants and cafés.
